Galactic star formation

Using data from Gaia DR3, my research focuses on reconstructing the star formation history (SFH) of the Milky Way. By leveraging full color-magnitude diagram (CMD) fitting, I aim to disentangle the complex interplay between contributions from kinematic overdensities and the intrinsic star formation history. This approach is crucial for breaking degeneracies that can arise when interpreting observed stellar populations.

The figures below illustrate the observed Gaia data alongside one potential solution and corresponding age-metallicity relation, providing insight into how stellar ages and metallicities have evolved over time in the Milky Way.
